Splash – Overview
Splash, also known as splash.tf, is a small instant cryptocurrency exchange that supports only four assets: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Monero, and Dai. It launched in 2025 and lets users swap between these coins with no registration and no account.
Splash does not apply any KYC or AML checks, and its terms describe this as a deliberate, non-discriminatory policy rather than a workaround. The platform states it has no rejection criteria for service use and does not impose restrictions based on geographic location, a claim it backs up by pointing out that it does not log IP addresses anywhere in its infrastructure, including reverse proxies, caching servers, and its API backend.
Splash shows its live reserves and 24-hour trading volume directly on its homepage for each supported asset, so users can see the funds backing a swap before starting one. Exchange rates are based on a volume-weighted average price pulled from outside price sources, and users can choose between a dynamic rate that updates in real time or a fixed rate that locks in for 15 minutes, recalculating every 15 minutes if payment hasn’t arrived yet.
Refunds on Splash are fully automated. If a deposit falls outside the platform’s minimum or maximum limits, funds are refunded without the user needing to request anything, and Splash does not charge a fee for this. For ERC-20 token refunds specifically, Splash hands over the private key of the funding address so the user can recover the funds directly. Standard fees scale up for larger Bitcoin transactions, adding between 0.5% and 2.5% on top of the base fee once a swap passes 1 BTC.
Splash also lists an independent, third-party escrow guarantee arranged through a named guarantor on Bitcoin Talk, covering refunds if an exchange doesn’t complete. On the privacy side, exchange data is automatically deleted from Splash’s systems after 15 days, and users can also trigger immediate deletion of a completed exchange’s data themselves. The platform is reachable over Tor, and support runs through a contact form on the site, with a stated response time of under 12 hours.
