ChangeNOW – Overview

ChangeNOW is a non-custodial instant cryptocurrency exchange launched in 2017 by CHN Group LLC, registered in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The platform lets users swap one cryptocurrency for another directly from their own wallets, without creating an account or holding funds on the ChangeNOW platform itself.

The service supports more than 1,500 cryptocurrencies. This includes a dedicated BTC (Lightning Network) pairing option, which allows near instant Bitcoin transfers over the Lightning Network rather than the standard on-chain network. ChangeNOW also supports Monero and Zcash, two privacy-focused coins that many larger exchanges have removed from their platforms in recent years.

ChangeNOW does not require an account or KYC verification for standard swaps. An automated risk system, powered by Sumsub, screens transactions in the background and may flag a transfer for manual review in rare cases. ChangeNOW has not published a specific dollar threshold that triggers this review, so the exact criteria stay internal to their compliance team. Users who want extra assurance before sending funds can run an address check through ChangeNOW’s screening tool first.

For pricing, ChangeNOW pulls quotes from its own reserves as well as partner exchanges, then routes each swap through whichever source offers the best rate at that moment. Users can pick between a fixed rate, which locks in the exchange rate for a short window, or a floating rate, which follows the live market price until the transaction confirms. Typical fees sit in the 0.5% to 1% range, built into the quoted rate rather than charged as a separate line item.

ChangeNOW places no fixed limit on the maximum swap amount. Minimum amounts vary by coin, generally starting in the low single digits of dollars. Most swaps settle within a few minutes, and Lightning Network transfers can confirm almost instantly.

The platform is available through a website interface as well as dedicated iOS and Android apps. Support is available through live chat and email, and ChangeNOW also offers a Partner API for businesses that want to embed exchange functionality into their own products.
