Ledger Stax Overview
The Ledger Stax is a hardware wallet built around a 3.7-inch curved E Ink touchscreen. The screen runs at 400 x 670 pixels with 16 grayscale shades, set in lightweight durable plastic with an anti-glare coating. Private keys are stored offline on an ST33K1M5 Secure Element chip certified to CC EAL6+. The device runs Ledger OS.
Connectivity includes Bluetooth (BLE 5.2), NFC, a USB-C port, and Qi wireless charging. Embedded magnets allow multiple units to stack together. The body is aluminum and plastic. The device is credit card-sized at 85 x 54 x 6 mm and weighs 44.2 grams.
The Ledger Wallet app handles transaction management on iOS 14+, Android 10+, and 64-bit desktop systems running Windows 10/11, macOS Monterey or Ventura, or Ubuntu LTS 20.04/22.04. The app supports 500+ coins and tokens directly. Third-party wallets expand that to 15,000+ assets. Ethereum and Polygon NFTs are supported via Ledger Wallet. The lock screen can display a custom image or NFT while the device is idle.
Transactions are reviewed using Clear Signing before approval. A PIN code gates device access; three consecutive wrong entries reset the device automatically. Backup is through the Secret Recovery Phrase. A Ledger Recovery Key (smart card) is included.
The box contains a USB-C to USB-C cable, three Recovery Sheets, a Magnet Shell in Midnight Black, a Ledger Recovery Key, and a setup guide. Not compatible with Chromebooks or ARM processors.
